Press release 8/3/2009
Getting to the Town of Taos Has Never Been Easier
August 3, 2009 (Taos, New Mexico) – The Town of Taos has announced it will add a Sunday schedule to its popular Taos Express bus service, which connects Albuquerque and Santa Fe to Taos via the New Mexico Rail Runner and Santa Fe’s Transit system. The Taos Express, $10 adult round trip, will now operate four days a week, Thursdays through Sundays, beginning this weekend. Added a.m. trip, and service on Sunday, is scheduled to launch August 8 and 9.
“Ridership during the first five weekends of Taos Express start-up service has been higher than anticipated with more than 200 passengers,” said Taos Mayor Darren Cordova. “Through its popularity and efficiencies of service, the Town of Taos Public Works’ Department/Transportation Division is able to immediately increase the transportation offerings for New Mexicans as well as out of state visitors.”
The tourist and bike friendly service is ADA compliant, and allows people a comfortable and convenient journey to the Northern New Mexico destination. Taos Express also offers passengers free transfers for the in-town Taos Chile Line shuttle service.
